The Dallas Cowboys have a need at the running back position, and they will reportedly see if Dalvin Cook can fill the void.

The four-time Pro Bowler is set for a visit, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.

Sharing a video of a recent Cook's workout, Pelissero noted that "Cook has hit the weights all offseason and says he feels the best he has in years."

Can Dalvin Cook provide a spark to the Cowboys' offense?

As Pelissero alluded to, Cook hasn't exactly been a top-tier running back in recent memory. Following a highly successful tenure in Minnesota, the veteran failed to make much of an impact with the New York Jets in 2023.

Last season, Cook barely saw the field. Though he appeared in 15 games, he totaled 214 yards with zero touchdowns on 67 carries, averaging 3.2 yards per tote.

Was last season an outlier, or is Cook truly cooked?

If he can stay healthy and has his burst again, it's hard to imagine a guy with Cook's resume can't contribute. He tallied 5,024 yards and 30 touchdowns on the ground in four seasons prior to last season.

During that stretch, Cooks was among the most dynamic backs in the NFL. His acceleration, agility and vision combined for a dangerous weapon. And it's one the Cowboys sure could use given their current lineup at the position .

But given last year's drop-off following his shoulder injury, and given he is nearly 30 years old, it may be a fool's hope.
