Liverpool star Mo Salah has delivered a bold update over a potential contract extension with the Premier League giants.

The Egyptian international into in the final year of his contract on Merseyside with no firm progress over a renewal for the 32-year-old forward.

Whilst van Dijk was more open ended over signing an extension at Anfield, Salah's update indicates he is not focusing on the situation right now.

"Before the season, I was just like 'I've got one year left, let's just enjoy it and don't think about the contract'," as per quotes from BBC Sport .

"I don't want to think about next year or the future, I just want to enjoy the last year [of my contract] and let's see. The most important thing is to take one day at a time and just be grateful to be here."

Salah's cryptic comments will have fans on the edge of their seat as the campaign progresses with the experienced winger eligible to open talks with non-Premier League clubs from the start of 2025.

Following his 2017 move from AS Roma, Salah has established himself as a club icon, as part of Jurgen Klopp's Premier League and UEFA Champions League title-winning sides.

As part of a stellar career at Liverpool, Salah has netted 213 goals in 351 appearances, ranking him fifth in Liverpool's all-time record goal scorer list, with 157 EPL goals making him their outright top scorer in the competition.
