Much QB Ado about Nothing: Browns release Tyler Huntley following days of conflicting Jameis Winston trade rumors

The Cleveland Browns reduced the quarterback roster from four to three.  Before Thursday morning, Deshaun Watson, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Jameis Winston, and Tyler Huntley were on the roster as QB1 through QB4, respectively.

After a Tuesday report indicating that the Browns would field offers for Winston or Huntley, the team ultimately released Huntley on Thursday morning. Esteemed reporters had conflicting reports about what was expected to happen. Mary Kay Cabot said that the Browns would listen to offers for Winston or Huntley. Josina Anderson hinted that Winston could be traded to the Broncos. Jordan Schultz said a quarterback would be moved by Wednesday evening, but it would not be Winston.

It is hard to say what was going on behind closed doors.  Maybe the Browns were fielding offers, and none were suitable.  In the end, Winston stays ending this week's edition of Cleveland Browns quarterback drama.

With Huntley's release, the Browns filled his roster spot by re-signing running back D'Onta Foreman .  Releasing Foreman during the creation of the initial 53-man roster was a surprising move given the lack of healthy running backs on the current roster.  Nick Chubb and Nyheim Hines remain on PUP.  Pierre Strong Jr. is recovering from an injury. Jerome Ford is expected to carry the majority of the load, but Foreman could be a huge asset.
