Real Madrid have reportedly asked the national team coaches of France and Germany to leave out some of their key players, including Kylian Mbappe and Antonio Rudiger, for the upcoming Nations League matches.

The Spanish giants are keen to give their star players additional rest after a gruelling Euro 2024 campaign.

Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has complied with Madrid's request, surprisingly omitting defender Antonio Rudiger from the squad set to face Hungary and the Netherlands.

According to Sky, this decision was influenced by Madrid's desire to ensure their players are well-rested for the demanding club season ahead.

    Deschamps rejects Madrid's plea

However, France coach Didier Deschamps has taken a different approach. Despite Madrid's request, Deschamps has decided to include Kylian Mbappe in the squad for the upcoming matches.

According to reports from RMC Sport , the French manager insisted that it was ultimately Mbappe's choice to represent his country, and the former Paris Saint-Germain star opted to join his national team.

Both Rudiger and Mbappe are expected to feature in Real Madrid’s lineup later this evening when they face Las Palmas, as the club looks to maintain its position in the La Liga title race and prevent Barcelona from widening the gap.

Madrid's request highlights the growing tension between club and country commitments, especially for players who are crucial to both. As the season progresses, balancing these demands will be key to maintaining player fitness and performance.
