NFL insider says under-the-radar free agent edge rusher expected to visit Seahawks next

The Seattle Seahawks have made some dramatic changes to their edge rotation over the last couple of weeks, including multiple trades - one sending Darrell Taylor away for a sixth-round pick, and another bringing in Trevis Gipson for the same . As the team attempts to shape its 53-man roster heading into the regular season, they're apparently not done working at this spot.

According to a report by NFL insider Adam Caplan , free agent edge rusher Tyus Bowser is expected to make Seattle next on his list of stops of his free agent world tour. Bowser has apparently already had recent visits with the Indianapolis Colts, the Dallas Cowboys and the Tennessee Titans.

Bowser was already on our radar as he has previous experience working with first-year head coach Mike Macdonald, who spent the last two seasons as the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens.

Bowser did not play in 2023 due to a torn achilles combined with a knee injury. However, the last full season he played Bowser was quite productive rushing the passer, posting seven sacks , 15 quarterback hits and 26 pressures in 2021.

With Uchenna Nwosu expected to sit out the next 2-6 weeks due to a sprained MCL, Seattle could use the extra help to round out the end of their edge rotation. At the moment, that looks something like: Boye Mafe, Dre'Mont Jones, Derick Hall and Trevis Gipson. If he signs, Bowser would likely project at the bottom beneath Gipson.
