Indianapolis Colts grab 'Mike Evans-like' prospect in 2025 NFL mock draft

The Indianapolis Colts finally feel confident in the depth they have at the wide receiver position.

With Michael Pittman Jr. leading the way on a brand new contract extension , the depth with Alec Pierce, Josh Downs and rookie Adonai Mitchell is likely the best quartet of Chris Ballard's tenure as general manager.

However, that doesn't mean the Colts won't continue looking at the position, especially if they get a chance to grab a potential elite prospect in the NFL Draft.

That's exactly what they were able to do in the latest mock draft from The Athletic , taking Arizona wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the No. 10 pick.

"Maybe the most talented skill player in the draft, McMillan (6-5, 210) has the Mike Evans-like qualities that every team covets. Last year, he caught 90 passes for 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns, and he was just as good on contested catches as he was running basic routes. Though he needs to fill out to reach his potential, McMillan could pair nicely with Anthony Richardson and the Colts’ group of receivers," wrote Scott Dochterman.

For those wondering why the Colts had the No. 10 pick in the mock draft, the order was based on the projected win totals established by Austin Mock of the Athletic.

Entering the 2024 season, McMillan projects to be one of the top wide receivers in the class. He broke out in a big way, but there's certainly a lot of development ahead when it comes to growing his route tree and nuance running those routes.

The Colts are always down to take on high-upside prospects, especially at the wide receiver position.

Whether they will be in a position to take one of the top wideouts in the class will all come down to the 22-year-old throwing the rock behind center.
