Wondering what to do while awaiting the first official, jam-packed Saturday of the college football season?

Well, how about watching some more college football?

Friday's slate features six games, including a Power Four matchup between TCU and Stanford, the latter beginning its first campaign as a member of the ACC.

Oklahoma is the only ranked team in action, as the 16th-ranked Sooners begin their season against Temple. Jackson Arnold is set to start at quarterback for Oklahoma; the talented sophomore threw for 361 yards in last year's loss to Arizona in the Alamo Bowl.

Friday will also mark a pair of firsts, as Duke's Manny Diaz and Michigan State's Jonathan Smith each coach their first game at their new school. Both coaches tout exciting young quarterbacks, too. The Blue Devils have handed the reins to Texas transfer Maalik Murphy, while the Spartans will ride with Oregon State transfer Aidan Chiles.

The Sporting News has you covered with everything you need to know in order to follow Friday's college football action.
