After consecutive 7-6 seasons, the Wisconsin Badgers will aim for a resurgence in 2024 in head coach Luke Fickell's second year at the helm.
It won't be an easy task in the new-look Big Ten Conference, which expanded to 18 members in the offseason. They'll face five teams that appear in the AP Poll's preseason top 25, including tough matchups against Oregon and Alabama.
The team named transfer quarterback Tyler Van Dyke as the starter and will hope for elevated leadership after Van Dyke spent four seasons with the Miami Hurricanes.
Wisconsin will also have to replace NFL-bound star running back Braelon Allen, as sixth-year senior Chez Mellusi and Oklahoma transfer Tawee Walker will likely carry the load.
Wide receiver Will Pauling earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors last season and will look for another breakout year.
On the defensive end, the linebacker corps was improved in the transfer portal, although questions remain about the defensive line.
After years of storied success, the Badgers will hope to capture another Big Ten title, competing alongside some other elite programs.

Wisconsin football radio announcers 2024
The duo of Matt Lepay and Mark Tauscher return to call Wisconsin Badgers football in 2024. Lepay has been the voice of the Badgers for more than 30 years, calling football since 1994. His storied career includes six Rose Bowls and five Big Ten football championships. Lepay was also recently inducted into the Wisconsin Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
Tauscher is a former Badger football player and Green Bay Packers lineman. He took over as the lead analyst for Badgers football radio broadcasts in 2023. Tauscher was a part of the 1999 Big Ten championship team.
