Broncos get back promising rookie after he clears waivers

    By Travis Wakeman,

The Denver Broncos waived linebacker Levelle Bailey this week when the team chose to sign another player who was left off of a 53-man roster, Kristian Welch . Bailey, who was part of the team's initial 53-man roster, was then exposed to waivers.

The Broncos had to wait 24 hours to see if one of the other 31 teams would put in a claim on Bailey. Fortunately for them, that didn't happen. Bailey will now join the Broncos' practice squad.

Bailey had a terrific summer for Denver after being signed as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State. The Broncos decided Welch and his ability to play special teams would be a great addition to the team, but Bailey is a name to watch for the future.

After pushing for a roster spot all preseason, Bailey capped things off with a 94-yard interception return for a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals.
