The first official Saturday of the college football season is upon us.

Seventeen teams ranked inside the AP top 25 preseason poll will begin their season on Saturday, with two top-25 matchups highlighting the action-packed slate.

In the first game of the day, No. 1 Georgia and No. 14 Clemson tangle at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, with the Bulldogs and Tigers each eying a statement victory to begin their respective championship pushes.

In the evening, No. 7 Notre Dame heads to College Station to battle No. 20 Texas A&M, with the Aggies in search of a statement win under new head coach Mike Elko.

There are rivalry matchups, too. No. 8 Penn State and West Virginia will meet for the second consecutive season, after previously having not played each other since 1992. And Florida hosts No. 19 Miami, with the two intrastate foes playing for just the second time in the last 10 years.

No. 9 Michigan also embarks on its quest for back-to-back national championships, as the Wolverines host Fresno State under the lights in Ann Arbor.

The Sporting News has you covered on everything you need to know about Saturday's slate of college football, with a complete schedule featuring TV and live stream information.
