Miami Heat superstar forward Jimmy Butler is being pursued by the Brooklyn Nets , per Brian Lewis . Butler is 34 and going into year 13, looking for probably his final NBA contract.

Butler has been an amazing player in the NBA, being a six-time All-Star, and a five-time All-NBA player. However, his contract is set to run out this year, and many teams would like to get the forward on the team. The Nets are likely the top destination, since Butler himself has shown interest in Brooklyn.

“The six-time All-Star is the most accomplished standout on that list not named James, and he likes Brooklyn, according to sources close to the player,” said Lewis.

In his career, Butler has averaged 18 points, five rebounds, four assists, and one and a half steals a game. Butler is also a great defender, being the steals champ in 2020-21, and a five-time second-team All-Defense.

If Butler did join the Nets, he probably would get a major payday, but he wouldn’t be contending. The Nets are in rebuild mode, and by next year, they would likely only be a play-in team. But knowing Butler, he would embrace the challenge to get the Nets to the Finals.
