Arike Ogunbowale is a professional scorer.

The Wings star was engulfed in flames in Sunday's showdown against Caitlin Clark and the Fever, challenging the WNBA record book in the process.

Ogunbowale erupted for her sixth 30-point game of the season, pouring in 34 points with a career-high nine 3-pointers. She tied the WNBA's single-game record for 3-pointers but couldn't get another triple to drop in the final five minutes of the game to break the milestone.

Ogunbowale's late cold spell saw Dallas come up just short in a back-and-forth battle with Indiana. The Fever came away with a 100-91 victory behind 28 points and 12 assists from Caitlin Clark and a season-high 36 points from Kelsey Mitchell.

Arike Ogunbowale ties WNBA single-game 3-point record

Ogunbowale was on fire the second she set foot on the court Sunday. The four-time All-Star set the tone early for the Wings, going off for 15 points on five 3-pointers in the first quarter.

Ogunbowale has a history of explosive performances from beyond the arc. It was only a little over a month ago that she won WNBA All-Star Game MVP after setting a scoring record with 34 points and eight 3-pointers.

Ogunbowale was in that same zone against the Fever, notching 24 points and six 3-pointers on nine attempts at the half.

She continued to fire away in the second half, burying another three triples to tie Jewell Loyd (2023) and Kelsey Mitchell (2019) for the WNBA single-game.

Unfortunately for Ogunbowale and the Wings, her hot streak ran out after she tied the record with five minutes to play. The 27-year-old missed each of her last two 3-point attempts, settling for a share of the top spot in the WNBA record book.

Ogunbowale continued to prove that she is one of the most prolific scorers in the W today. Her 22.7 points per game are second to MVP favorite A'ja Wilson (27.5), and her 3.1 3-pointers made per game lead the league.

    WNBA single-game 3-point record

Ogunbowale tied Loyd and Mitchell for the most 3-pointers in a single game in WNBA history.

After that three-way tie at the top, there are nine players tied for fourth with eight 3-pointers in a game: Loyd (2x), Rachel Banham, Kayla McBride, Sabrina Ionescu, Diana Taurasi (4x), Leilani Mitchell, Renee Montgomery, and Shekinna Stricklen.
