    6 days till Patriots season opener: Every player to wear No. 6 for New England

    The New England Patriots will open their 2024 campaign against the Cincinnati Bengals at Paycor Stadium on Sunday, September 8 at 1:00 p.m. ET, which is now six days away.

    Until the opening kickoff of the season for the Patriots, we'll be counting down each day by looking back at those who have worn each specific jersey number.

    Since 1960, eight players have worn No. 6 in New England, and with six days until their first game of the year, here's a look at everyone who's worn the number for the team:

    WR Javon Baker: Present

    • Selected in the fourth round of this year's drafted
    • Expected to be a rotational wideout in rookie season

    CB Christian Gonzalez: 2023

    • Appeared in four games for New England in his first season, recording 17 tackles, three passes defensed, one interception and a sack
    • Expected to be the team's top cornerback in 2024

    K Nick Folk: 2020-22

    • Appeared in 57 games for New England over four seasons, making 89.3% of his field goals and 91.3% of his extra points
    • Also played for the New York Jets (made a Pro Bowl), Dallas Cowboys, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Tennessee Titans

    P Ryan Allen: 2013-18

    • Appeared in 96 games for New England over six seasons, averaging 45.3 yards per punt
    • Won three Super Bowls with the Patriots
    • Also played for the Atlanta Falcons, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans

    P Chris Hanson: 2007-09

    • Appeared in 48 games for New England over three seasons, averaging 41.5 yards per punt
    • Also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars (made a Pro Bowl) and Green Bay Packers

    QB Rohan Davey: 2002-04

    • Appeared in seven games for New England over three seasons, completing eight of his 19 passes for 88 yards
    • Won two Super Bowls with the Patriots

    P Jeff Feagles: 1988-89

    • Appeared in 32 games for New England over two seasons, averaging 38.1 yards per punt
    • Also played for the New York Giants (made a Pro Bowl and won a Super Bowl), Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals (made a Pro Bowl) and Philadelphia Eagles

    P Al Herline: 1987

    • Appeared in three games for New England during the player striking, averaging 34.4 yards per punt

    P Mike Hubach: 1980-81

    • Appeared in 21 games for New England over two seasons averaging 38 yards per punt
