Two Bills headline 2024 NFL breakout candidates

All the talk this offseason has been about how much turnover the Buffalo Bills have gone through in the last six months. They moved on from defensive veterans Micah Hyde, Jordan Poyer, and Tre'Davious White, as well as long-time center Mitch Morse before trading away wide receiver Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans.

However, Buffalo is still a team loaded with talent - young talent, in particular. And two of their brightest young stars have been labeled as potential breakout players for the 2024 season.

Chris Trapasso of CBS Sports says linebacker Dorian Williams and wide receiver Khalil Shakir could be in for huge campaigns.

"Williams has a physical makeup and on-field demeanor strikingly similar to [Matt] Milano, the second-level defender he'll be directly replacing in Buffalo for most of the season," Trapasso writes. "Plus, new defensive play-caller Bobby Babich was the Bills linebacker coach the past two seasons as milano ascended the ranks of linebackers."

Trapasso compares Shakir to Cole Beasley when he was in Buffalo and how much he meant to the Bills offense.

"Let's not forget how dynamic the Allen-Cole Beasley tandem was from 2019 through 2022," Trapasso writes. "And Shakir should find himself in a similar slot-based role in his third campaign in Buffalo."

Despite the pieces they've lost, Buffalo have ready-made pieces to slide in and make their own respective impacts.
