Patrick Mahomes ribs Ravens' Isaiah Likely over his cleats choice after near-touchdown

Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely may need to examine his cleats choice going forward.

The Ravens fell to the Kansas City Chiefs , 27-20, on the NFL's opening night on Thursday. Lamar Jackson found Likely for a last-second touchdown catch that would have given the Ravens a chance to tie or win the game. However, Likely’s toe was just out of bounds , and referees over-turned the play, sealing the win for the Chiefs.

A still-shot showed how close it was to a touchdown.

After the game, Patrick Mahomes had some fun at Likely's expense, giving him some functional fashion advice.

"You gotta wear white cleats next time," Mahomes told reporters. "That's my advice for him."

Perhaps if Likely was wearing white cleats, it would have been harder to see his foot on the out-of-bounds line.

Ravens players still weren't totally convinced that the call should have been over-turned. Linebacker Roquan Smith told reporters that he thought there wasn't enough evidence to over-turn the call after referees called it a touchdown on the field. Jackson agreed, telling reporters , "I still think it was a touchdown."

We'll see if Likely dons new cleats going forward.
