The Baltimore Orioles have had a superb season to date. With an 81-60 record, they are at the top of the American League in the standings.

But they will have some things to address this coming offseason. Before the year began, they acquired right-hander and former Cy Young Corbin Burnes from the Milwaukee Brewers.

Burnes is in his walk year and will hit the open market this coming offseason, but Joel Reuter of Bleacher Report expects Baltimore to be able to re-sign the veteran right-hander.

"Is there a more attractive landing spot based on long-term outlook than the Baltimore Orioles given their wealth of young, controllable offensive talent and still stocked farm system?" Reuter wrote. "That will be the pitch to Corbin Burnes this winter as they try to keep the ace they paid a steep price to acquire this past offseason, and while he has scuffled a bit of late, he remains one of baseball's true top-of-the-rotation aces."

The Orioles certainly have somewhat of an edge given how bright their future is. They also have the advantage of a new owner. John Angelos sold the team to David Rubenstein, and he may be more willing to open up his pocketbook to try and keep Burnes.

As expected, Burnes' market will be quite competitive, as top-of-the-rotation arms are always at a premium. But the Orioles should certainly be one of the teams in the mix for him.

The former Cy Young is 13-7 in 28 starts with a 3.19 ERA, 154 strikeouts, and a 1.13 WHIP over 169 1/3 innings pitched. As Reuter mentioned, the 29-year-old has struggled a bit recently, but he should still be one of the most sought-after pitchers this offseason next to Max Fried and Blake Snell.
