After an ugly loss to No. 1 Georgia, Clemson returns home to Death Valley hoping for its first win of the season against Appalachian State.
The Tigers will try and keep their College Football Playoff hopes alive after a 34-3 loss. Clemson held Georgia to six points in the first half, but the Bulldogs cruised to victory in the second. Clemson dropped from No. 14 in preseason rankings to 25th in the nation and can still put together a playoff worthy season but will need to string together some key wins at home.
Appalachian State will be a tough opponent as one of the top teams in the Sun Belt Conference who could claim the Group of Five spot in the Playoffs. After a 38-10 victory over Tennessee State last weekend, in which quarterback Joey Aguilar passed for 326 yards and two touchdowns, Clemson's margin for error is slim.
