    Quinn Ewers stats today: Texas star QB shines with 3 TDs in statement win over Michigan

    Leading No. 3 Texas into the Big House to face No. 10 Michigan, Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers didn't waste much time providing a reminder that big-time players deliver big-time performances on the biggest stages.

    Ewers, who is in his third season as Texas' starting QB, was unfazed by the moment, leading his team on a 56-yard touchdown drive to strike first late in the first quarter. He was nothing short of impressive throughout the first half, displaying poise in the pocket to make plays and get several teammates involved.

    Thanks in large part to Ewers' performance, Texas leaves Michigan having made a resounding statement with a convincing 31-12 win. The football world is on notice that the Longhorns are back again and looking to win big in 2024.

    Ewers nearly turned in a full day's work in the first half of Saturday's showdown, completing 18 of 26 pass attempts for 203 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He tacked on another

    Even more impressive is how Ewers spread the ball around, getting five different receivers involved in the first half. His chemistry with TE Gunnar Helm was evident as the two connected for six receptions, 76 yards and a touchdown in the first half. Ewers' other first-half TD tosses went to junior WR Matthew Golden and RB  Jaydon Blue.

    Through Texas' first two games, Ewers is 44-of-63 (69.8%) for 506 yards and six touchdowns with just one interception. Texas is now 2-0 on the season and returns to Austin for non-conference meetings with UTSA and Louisiana-Monroe.

    As Texas prepares for its first season of action in the SEC, elite play from Ewers will be key to making another run to the College Football Playoff.

    Ewers was masterful throughout the first half, stepping up in the pocket to find Helm for the first TD of the day.

    That poise came through in several situations, including a clutch third-down completion to Golden. Ewers remained cool and calm under all types of pressure.
