The Pittsburgh Steelers began their 2024 campaign on Sunday afternoon against the Atlanta Falcons and defensive back DeShon Elliott notched the team's first interception of the campaign in his first game with the Steelers.

Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins was nearly picked off earlier in the quarter but the pass went right through the hands of cornerback Donte Jackson. However, his luck ran out later in the quarter.

Cousins threw a pass to the seam but it was a terrible decision, as there were two Steelers in the area. Elliott was the one who came up with it, though, giving the Steelers the ball at midfield.

The Steelers signed Elliott to a two-year, $6 million contract this offseason to play alongside fellow safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

A former sixth-round pick of the Baltimore Ravens, Elliott spent three seasons with the team before signing with the Detroit Lions in 2022 and then the Miami Dolphins in 2023.
