The Seattle Mariners are a team that is strong on the pitching front but not so much on the offensive side.

In fact, their lack of production on offense has been the main culprit for their second-half struggles. This comes even after they had traded for both Randy Arozarena and Justin Turner.

Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report lists offensive help as something the Mariners should have tried harder for at the trade deadline.

"There are 14 players who have made at least 25 plate appearances for the Mariners since the trade deadline. Only four of them are batting at least .240, while six are sitting at .200 or worse," Miller wrote. "Both Randy Arozarena and Justin Turner land in between those two groups, but those acquisitions did nothing to fix what has been a disappointing offense all season long."

Seattle's offense has certainly been disappointing this season. One might have expected them to get the boost they need with the acquisitions of both Turner and Arozarena.

Unfortunately, they haven't gotten much production out of their lineup this year, and it might have made sense for them to go out and target another big bat in addition to Turner and Arozarena.

Seattle owns a record of 73-71 and sits 4 1/2 games back in the American League West and 3 1/2 back in the Wild Card race. There is still a chance for them to salvage the 2024 season after the previously held a 10-game lead in the division.

But the clock is ticking for Seattle, and they'll need their bats to wake up in order to go on a run.
