NFL quarterback predicts that Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith will 'be the best receiver ever'

Ever since the NFL was founded in 1920, there have been thousands of tremendous athletes and players. Each position has its respective top players from every era, but the argument for who is the greatest of all time continues to be a hot-button topic to this day. One such NFL quarterback thinks he knows who the G.O.A.T. receiver is, and he isn't even in the league yet.

Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith appeared on ' CBS Sports College Football ' and was asked about his cousin, Jeremiah Smith. Geno was quick to give a jaw-dropping prediction for the Buckeye receiver:

"I have seen a lot of great receivers and I have also had the chance to watch [Jeremiah] since he was about ten-years-old. He is going to be the best receiver ever".

In just two games so far in his freshman season, Jeremiah Smith has caught 11 passes for over 200 yards and three touchdowns, averaging nearly 20 yards per catch and making him tied for fifth-most receiving touchdowns by a freshman (with Marvin Harrison Jr.) in Ohio State history.

The OSU freshman who leads that record is none other than NFL Hall of Famer Chris Carter, and he took to ' X ' earlier this week saying Jeremiah might be the one to beat his long-standing record:

While Jeremiah Smith is only a freshman and has much to prove, if he is already getting placed in the G.O.A.T. receiver conversations without being in the NFL, the league's defenses could be in for some trouble.
