The New England Patriots have won their first game of the 2024 season, downing the Cincinnati Bengals 16-10 on Sunday at Paycor Stadium.

However, an NFL roster is never set, as injuries and inconsistent performances can mean teams are looking to add replacements at a moment's notice.

On Tuesday, New England hosted a group of eight free agents for workouts at Gillette Stadium and signed one of them (Jaquelin Roy) to their practice squad. Here's who took part:

    DE Jaquelin Roy

Roy, 23, played in 34 games at LSU over three seasons, recording 97 tackles (13.5 for a loss), four sacks and a forced fumble.

The Minnesota Vikings selected him in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL draft. He appeared in 12 games as a rookie, recording eight tackles (one for a loss) and a quarterback hit.

    DL Kyler Baugh

Baugh began his collegiate career at Houston Baptist and transferred to Minnesota for his final two seasons. He recorded 77 tackles (seven for a loss), four sacks, four passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 26 games.

He spent time with the New York Giants and New Orleans Saints this offseason.

    DL Jerrod Clark

Clark, 24, is from Dorchester, Massachusetts and played at Coastal Carolina, recording 105 tackles (18 for a loss), 7.5 sacks and three passes defensed in 38 games.

He went undrafted in 2023, signed with the Los Angeles Chargers and spent the entire year on the practice squad.

    DL Neil Farrell Jr.

Farrell, 26, played in 52 games over five seasons at LSU, recording 144 tackles (23 for a loss), 7.5 sacks, five passes defensed and two forced fumbles.

The Las Vegas Raiders took Farrell in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL draft and spent the 2023 season with the Kansas City Chiefs. He's appeared in 12 total games, recording 12 tackles (one for a loss), two quarterback hits and a pass defensed.

    WR Jaray Jenkins

Jenkins, 24, played in 43 games for LSU, catching 89 passes for 1,370 yards and 14 touchdowns over four seasons.

The Jacksonville Jaguars signed Jenkins as an undrafted free agent in 2023, and he spent this past offseason with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he hasn't played in a game.

    WR John Jiles

Jiles, 24, played collegiately at Fort Scott Community College, Virginia Union and West Florida. In 10 games at West Florida, he caught 54 passes for 1,081 yards and 13 touchdowns.

He signed with the New York Giants this offseason as an undrafted free agent.

    DL Leonard Payne Jr.

Payne, 23, started his college career at Fresno State before transferring to Colorado for the 2023 season. In 40 college games, he recorded 45 tackles (12.5 for a loss), 7.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and a pass defensed.

He signed with the Miami Dolphins this offseason as an undrafted free agent.

    DL Tommy Togiai

Togiai, 24, appeared in 33 games over three seasons at Ohio State, recording 49 tackles (8.5 for a loss), three sacks, three passes defensed and a forced fumble.

The Cleveland Browns selected him in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL draft. Last season, he split time between the Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons.

He's appeared in 18 NFL games (all with Cleveland), recording 29 tackles, three quarterback hits, two passes defensed, one sack and a fumble recovery.
