Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson missed the team's practice on Monday for reasons that weren't clear.

Multiple reporters said Jackson was not on the field during the portion of practice open to the media.

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh declined to clarify why Jackson wasn't practicing, saying only that the injury report comes out on Wednesday.

However, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Jackson may still be recovering from the team's season-opening loss to the Kansas City Chiefs .

"My understanding is, he needed an extra day — sore and beat-up from the game against the Chiefs," Schefter said on "The Pat McAfee Show." "We'll see how that impacts things going forward."

Schefter said that he didn't think the soreness would impact Jackson's availability for Week 2, though he said it's worth monitoring.

Jackson was sacked just once against the Chiefs, but he may have taken some hard hits while running the ball 16 times for 122 yards in the season-opener. On one occasion, Jackson lowered his shoulder on an incoming defender as he ran the ball toward the sideline.

Jackson also threw the ball 41 times and often had to dance around the pocket to avoid pass-rushers.

As Sarah Ellison of Ravens Vault noted , Jackson was present for team photos on Monday, so he was at least at the Ravens' facility.

Luckily, for the Ravens, they have a long break between games this week. But the team must still be concerned if Jackson already has bumps and bruises that require an extra day of rest after Week 1.
