The Los Angeles Dodgers are among the top favorites to win the World Series this season and one of the biggest reasons why was a successful trade deadline.

Los Angeles was one of the most active teams in baseball ahead of the 2024 Major League Baseball trade deadline. The Dodgers were dealing with injuries in the starting rotation and helped fill the hole by acquiring Jack Flaherty in a trade with the Detroit Tigers.

Flaherty has been great for the Dodgers and was listed by CBS Sports' R.J. Anderson as a player who "raised their stock."

"It was around this time last year when the (Baltimore Orioles) relegated Flaherty to the bullpen for the stretch run after acquiring him at the deadline with the hopes that he would boost their rotation," Anderson said. "He was again on the move this July, but unlike last year he's thus far nailed the landing. Flaherty is applying the finishing touches to his best season (in terms of results and availability) since 2019. Provided nothing funky happens over the coming months, he should be in line to receive a far more lucrative arrangement than the pillow contract (one year, $14 million) he inked last winter with the Tigers."

Flaherty signed a one-year deal ahead of the 2024 season and now will land a multi-year deal this winter. The veteran righty has been so good this season that Spotrac is projecting that he will land a deal worth around $121 million .

The 28-year-old has made 25 starts this season and has a 2.86 ERA. Flaherty has made seven starts with the Dodgers since the trade deadline and has logged a 2.61 ERA and 47-to-10 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 41 1/3 innings pitched.

Should the Dodgers consider re-signing Flaherty this winter?

a question to ponder: Does Flaherty want to re-sign with the Dodgers. the Dodgers are one of the worst team's at handling their pitching staff. Maybe if Roberts is gone, things might improve
