The Boston Red Sox have just a few weeks left in their 2024 regular season, and considering they're four games out of the final wild-card spot in the American League, many have shifted their attention to the future.

With Boston boasting a number of baseball's top prospects, outfielder Roman Anthony may be the most exciting of them. And, after Tampa Bay Rays infielder Junior Caminero officially graduated, Anthony is Baseball America's No. 1 prospect in the sport.

The 20-year-old has had a meteoric rise through the Red Sox's system after Boston selected him in the second round of the 2022 MLB draft out of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.

Anthony had started his time in Boston's organization with their rookie-ball FCL team before moving to low-A Salem quickly in 2022.

He started the 2023 season in Salem and was promoted to High-A Greenville after just 42 games and then to Double-A Portland after another 54.

This year, Anthony played 84 games in Portland, hitting .259 with an .856 OPS, 15 home runs, 45 RBIs and 16 stolen bases. He was then promoted to Triple-A Worcester, where he's been even better, hitting, .3540 with a .949 OPS, three home runs, 14 RBIs and three stolen bases in 25 games.

At this rate, it wouldn't be too surprising to see Anthony vying for a starting spot in Boston's outfield to start the 2025 season, and honestly, he might deserve it.
