DeAndre Hopkins injury update: Latest news on Titans WR's Week 2 status

Watching the status of Tennessee Titans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins will be a weekly affair this season, as the veteran playmaker is trying to play through a torn MCL he suffered during training camp practice in late July.

Hopkins was able to play in Week 1 despite not logging a single full practice . Instead, he played after being limited the entire week. There was a concern that Hopkins may have his workload limited, and that's exactly what happened.

Hopkins only played 17 snaps , and making matters worse, he wasn't targeted once in the Titans' 24-17 loss to the Chicago Bears .

On Wednesday ahead of practice, Callahan provided a positive update on his star wide receiver that will give hope that better days are ahead for Hopkins.

According to ESPN's Turron Davenport , the situation with Hopkins this week will be a "feel out process" but Callahan believes that Hopkins will be closer to a full workload than he was last week when he logged just 17 snaps.

The Titans will release their injury report later today. We'll update this page with Hopkins' practice participation when it becomes available.

Should you start DeAndre Hopkins in Week 2?

While Hopkins was limited last week, wide receiver Treylon Burks was the biggest beneficiary, with the third-year wideout totaling 44 snaps. However, he didn't do anything with them. Calvin Ridley led the way among wide receivers with 54 snaps, and Tyler Boyd was right behind him with 53.

Things don't look great for Hopkins right now. Not only is he going to be playing hurt all season long, which puts him at risk of exiting games early, his workload could vary from week to week.

You simply can't trust him in lineups currently until we see a few weeks of steady production, and that's especially true in a tough matchup against the New York Jets .

Ridley remains a flex option, but neither Boyd nor Burks are viable lineup options currently.
