Red Sox named a landing spot for $200 million superstar infielder this offseason

The Boston Red Sox may have walked off the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday night to earn a series win, but they're still four games out of the final Wild-Card spot in the American League with just 16 games left in their season.

With that said, many people are shifting their focus to the offseason and the upcoming 2025 MLB season.

Boston will have a lot of decisions to make and should have a ton of money to spend.

If the Red Sox want to make a splash, one of the biggest names on the market this offseason will be Houston Astros third baseman Alex Bregman, and Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer actually listed Boston as a potential landing spot for him.

Obviously, the first question about signing a third baseman is about Rafael Devers, but he could move to designated hitter and still provide the same impact for the team. He may be even better offensively if he's not focused on his fielding.

Bregman would be an upgrade at the position defensively and his right-handed bat would be perfect for Fenway Park.

In his career, the two-time All-Star has hit .272 with an .848 OPS, 187 home runs, 653 RBIs and 42 stolen bases. In 98 plate appearances (21 games) at Fenway Park, he's hit .375 with a 1.240 OPS, seven home runs and 15 RBIs.

Bregman is coming off the worst season of his career (.257/.313/.443/.756), so he may be more affordable than we might think. Rymer projects the 30-year-old to receive a seven-year, $210 million deal. Boston should be able to swing that, especially with the amount of young talent coming up in the next year.
