Since its inception in 1953 as the Capitol Wrestling Corporation, World Wrestling Entertainment has grown from a National Wrestling Alliance territory to an international powerhouse in sports and entertainment.

WWE has seen its fair share of stars become fan favorites and icons, from Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, John Cena, and more.  The future is also bright, with current generation stars Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, Becky Lynch, Bianca Belair, Kevin Owens, and more leading the way.

Those stars have been featured on various platforms, from TV, PPV, late-night talk shows, and movies. With TKO Group’s investment, international touring, and more, WWE’s influence is all over.

WWE RAW heads to Netflix in January 2025. WWE signed a 10-year, $5 billion deal with Netflix to air its top wrestling show on the streaming platform.

“This deal is transformative,” said Mark Shapiro, TKO President and COO. “It marries the can’t-miss WWE product with Netflix’s extraordinary global reach and locks in significant and predictable economics for many years.
