76ers' $32 million signing named top trade candidate

Rosters in the NBA can always use improvements, especially for those hoping to compete for a championship.

The Philadelphia 76ers have arguably their strongest lineup in the Joel Embiid era, largely due to the addition of star Paul George. The Sixers' front office also brought in former Miami Heat playoff riser Caleb Martin to fill the void at power forward.

Martin's spot in the rotation is not safe, according to Bleacher Report , as they listed him as one of the 76ers' top trade candidates.

"Martin signed one of the most team-friendly deals this offseason, agreeing to $35 million over the next four years," B/R's Greg Swartz wrote. "That's roughly an average of 5.5 percent of the cap for a player who can defend both forward positions and carries 45 games of playoff experience with the Miami Heat."

Martin is a desirable player for any title contender, but the issues come more from his fit in Philadelphia. The 76ers lack of size is often pointed to as their biggest flaw. If the right opportunity presents itself to add size with a big man, such as Robert Williams III , it's hard to imagine Daryl Morey passing on the opportunity.

The ex-Heat forward averaged just 4.4 rebounds last season while his defense was nothing out of the ordinary. The contract made sense at the time considering the Heat offered him a much more sizable deal, but come February, the stint may come to a close.
