Red Sox starter Tanner Houck is scratched for tonight's game against Yankees; Richard Fitts starts in his place

The Boston Red Sox have scratched their original starting pitcher for tonight, Tanner Houck, and replaced him with Richard Fitts, per Chris Cotillo .

Houck has been the Red Sox best pitcher stat-wise for the majority of this year, posting a 3.24 ERA, 150 strikeouts, and a record of 8-10. He would have been a great starter for tonight, but it seems the Sox want to give him another start off.

Fitts is the replacement, and not a bad one. He had his first start against the Chicago White Sox in Fenway, and did fairly well. He pitched almost six innings, got two strikeouts and gave up no runs.

The Yankees, however, are not the White Sox. The complete opposite in fact. Putting Fitts against one of the greatest offensive powers in the MLB for his second start is a risky move, but if they believe he can deal, all fans can do is believe in him and watch.

The Sox play New York tonight at 7:10pm EST.
