NFL analyst says Seahawks rookie Byron Murphy II is going to be a 'serious problem' this season

If you were only watching the box score you might have missed a strong debut from Seattle Seahawks rookie defensive lineman Byron Murphy II . Technically, Murphy was only credited with two tackles, but that does nothing to capture just how impactful he was. One need only ask Denver Broncos rookie quarterback Bo Nix, who had to scramble away from Murphy a couple times on Sunday after facing quick pressure. Murphy also showcased some pretty remarkable leverage and power against the run.

Here's NFL analyst Doug Farrar sharing some of Murphy's best plays from Seattle's Week 1 win over the Broncos, plus a claim that Murphy is going to be a SERIOUS problem.

Murphy was on the field for 40 defensive snaps against Denver, 58% of the team's total. That's the same number of snaps is defensive end Dre'Mont Jones and fewer than that of Jarran Reed and Leonard Williams, but only a handful less all together.

For what it's worth, Pro Football Focus gave Murphy a 70.5 overall grade for his debut, including 68.0 in run defense, 69.0 in tackling and 63.9 in pass rushing.

Next up, Murphy will face a New England Patriots offensive line that ranked 28th in pass blocking and 27th in run blocking last week.
