The Detroit Lions entered the season with just four wide receivers on their 53-man roster, which led to the team carrying four on the practice squad. One of them looks set to make his Lions debut in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers .

The team announced on Saturday it has elevated wide receivers Tom Kennedy and Tim Patrick from the practice squad. Kennedy was a practice squad elevation for Week 1 and played four snaps on offense but did not record a stat.

Patrick signed to the Lions' practice squad after he was cut by the Denver Broncos , a team he spent six years with. Patrick tallied two 700-yard seasons in Denver in 2020 and 2021 but has been plagued by injury the past two years.

The Lions have a few injury concerns with their wide receivers in Week 2. Rookie wide receiver Isaiah Williams has been ruled out due to an abdomen injury and third-year wideout Jameson Williams is questionable after being limited all week with an ankle injury.

Along with Kennedy and Patrick, the Lions also have Allen Robinson and Donovan Peoples-Jones on the practice squad. Robinson was cut by the New York Giants and Peoples-Jones was with Detroit during the offseason but failed to make the 53-man roster out of training camp.

The Lions and Buccaneers will kick off from Ford Field on Sunday, Sept. 15, with the game beginning at 1 p.m. ET.
