The Arizona Cardinals were not expected to have a playoff bound team in 2024. That doesn't mean there aren't things to be excited about with a healthy Kyler Murray under center and explosive rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. out wide.

Arizona nearly pulled off a Week 1 upset against the Buffalo Bills, but Harrison's debut was quiet. He finished with just three targets and one reception for four yards. Nobody was overreacting and saying that he was a bust, but when he voiced his concerns after the game, it didn't seem like he and Murray were on the same page.

Murray, the quarterback in the offense, said it wasn't his job to feed targets to Harrison. It was a head-scratching comment, but it did generate more intrigue for Arizona's Week 2 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. Let's take a look at how Harrison did against Los Angeles.

Marvin Harrison Jr.'s stats today vs. Rams

    Stat Total
    Targets 8
    Receptions 4
    Yards 130
    Touchdowns 2

Harrison scored both touchdowns in the first quarter and picked up more yards in the second quarter. He couldn't come down with either target he got in the third quarter and heads into the fourth still with 130 yards and two scores.

Harrison wasn't targeted in the fourth quarter as Arizona began resting its starters. The rookie ends with an amazing first quarter and a big play in the second before a quiet afternoon the rest of the way.

Marvin Harrison Jr. highlights vs. Rams

Harrison brought in his first career touchdown early in the first quarter.

As quickly as the Ohio State product scored his first career TD, he didn't wait long to add another. Harrison Jr. came down with a 60-yard touchdown on Arizona's next drive.

Murray underthrew Harrison, as this play could have been his third touchdown of the day if he was hit in stride and was able to outrun the safety.

Kyler Murray is a jackals I swear. This lil dude is full of himself, he makes the dumbest comments." It's not his job to feed Marvin Harrison targets." Then who's job is it Kyler?? I thought you were the QB, if any NFL QB had a weapon like Harrison on the team. They'd be getting him the ball as much as possible. I remember when former Arizona WR DeAndre Hopkins was on the team, and he said Murray was yelling at him about something as if he were a rookie or something. He said he had to laugh it off to keep from choking Murray. šŸ¤£ He said he hadn't been yelled at like that since he was a freshman in college, and here he is a top veteran WR getting yelled at by a rookie QB in Kyler Murray.
