Cup Series enthusiasts have gotten increasingly used to seeing late cautions alter the way a race shakes out.

Sunday's race at Watkins Glen was no exception. And despite the implications such a scenario could place on postseason competitors, the scornful sorceress that is road racing didn't care.

Go Bowling at the Glen became the latest in a long line of races which was settled via overtime after a pair of collisions in the final few laps saw the likes of Martin Truex Jr., Tyler Reddick and Kyle Busch incur damage.

So, just what driver reigned supreme following a frantic day at the track? The Sporting News fills you in on the final result from Sunday's race at Watkins Glen, Go Bowling at the Glen.

Who won the NASCAR race today?

After a torrid day of racing, just one man could stand amid a torrent of confetti on Sunday afternoon: Chris Buescher.

The Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing standout outpaced Shane Van Gisbergen, Carson Hocevar and Ross Chastain in the final few laps, racing to the sixth victory of his Cup Series career.

The 2024 campaign has been a disheartening one for the No. 17 team, which shockingly failed to qualify for the postseason after a seventh-place finish in 2023. Facing a last-lap deficit to Van Gisbergen — NASCAR's best road course driver — the odds seemed against him. However, Buescher capitalized on an unforced error from the Kiwi, usurping him as he crossed the finish line to pick up his first win of the year.
