Just how good are the New Orleans Saints? One NFL-leading stat says it all

Just how good the New Orleans Saints might be after this hot 2-0 start is one of the biggest questions making the rounds right now.

There is, after all, an annual occurrence of fluky early-season happenings in the NFL before things even out.

One could argue pretty well that these Saints have some big staying power, though.

Perhaps the most interesting note comes from ESPN’s Katherine Terrell , who pointed out that over the course of those first two weeks, the Saints are the only team yet to even trail during a game.

It’s not like the Saints played the Carolina Panthers twice in a row, either. They dropped 47 points on the XFL-looking Panthers, then 44 more on the Dallas Cowboys—leaving Jerry Jones stunned in the aftermath .

That was a road game against the Cowboys after Dallas had a week of film on the new, super-successful Klint Kubiak offense , too. Dak Prescott and Co. had also beat a game Cleveland squad in Week 1.

And yet here we are with the Saints having yet to lose while every game suddenly looks like a track meet. Derek Carr has fired just nine incompletions over 39 attempts, gaining 443 yards with five touchdowns. Alvin Kamara has averaged nearly six yards per carry over 35 attempts with four rushing scores and one as a receiver. Breakout Rashid Shaheed has two scores already and two other targets have 90-plus yards and four different names have scored receiving touchdowns.

The next three weeks will say much about how long this can last for the Saints, with possible shootouts against strong offenses like Philadelphia, Atlanta and then Kansas City in primetime on a Monday night. If the Saints still haven’t trailed after that, well, Saints fans certainly know where the Super Bowl is this season.

I'm in new orleans and two games don't make a season but the offensive side of the team seems to be offensive to other teams other than to themselves. The line looks improved and that was the biggest problem imo since two yrs prior to Brees retirement. We have weapons Including at qb They now have a direction when they haven't in almost half a decade. we'll see how the rest of the season goes but from the first two games they seem on the right track
