Monday was an incredible day for fans of the Red Brand, with one of the year's best episodes taking place. There was a ton of action throughout the night , as well as top promotions and wrestling sites far and wide had reactions to it all.

Here's your daily rundown of the Top 5 newsworthy items from the world of the WWE.

No. 5:The New Day may actually be headed for a breakup | Cageside Seats

This week’s episode of Monday Night Raw saw The New Day challenge The Judgment Day for the world tag team titles. They came up short, thanks to a melee breaking out that saw the rest of JD battling it out with the LWO, who ran in to help the babyfaces. After the loss, Woods was livid about the defeat, yelling at Kingston that something had to change.

No. 4: Trish Stratus: I’d Focus On Character Development To Make The WWE Women’s Division Better | Fightful

    Link

"I think I would like to have a little bit more focus on characters. I feel like for sure now, there’s way more opportunities for women, obviously. We see them main eventing all the time, we see them in high-profile matches, but I think what we had back in the day was a lot of more character stuff, and you got to know these characters, the fans could really resonate with the character a little bit more. Now, they’re just having these great matches, but there’s no backstory as much as there was back in the day, so I think character development would be one thing I’d like to focus on.”

No. 3: Megan Thee Stallion Was Set To Collaborate With Mercedes Mone Before WWE Deal |

Megan Thee Stallion’s song “Neva Play” debuted on WWE SmackDown last Friday, marking her as the new artist for the show’s theme.

Pwinsider is reporting that Megan had agreed to collaborate with AEW wrestler Mercedes Mone prior to this.

In February, Megan and Mercedes met at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in Japan and discovered they were fans of each other. This led to discussions between their respective teams.

Negotiations occurred between Megan’s manager, Mike B of Roc Nation, and Mercedes’ manager, Keven Undergaro, resulting in an agreement to work together.

No. 2: Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes advertised for this week’s WWE SmackDown

The lineup for the Friday, September 20 SmackDown:

    • Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes seek common ground
    • WWE United States Champion LA Knight defends against Andrade
    • Nia Jax & Tiffany Stratton vs. Bayley & Naomi – whoever pins Jax or Stratton gets a WWE Women’s title match at Bad Blood. If Jax & Stratton win, the loser must leave SmackDown

No. 1: WWE RAW 9/16/2024: 3 Things We Hated And 3 Things We Loved | Wrestling, Inc.

Among the things on the negative side, CM Punk's opening promo where he went super serious instead of Super Saiyan. Among the plusses? Big Bronson Reed is en feugo.

Bronson Reed and Braun Strowman never really got round to starting their match in an official capacity this week, and yet they somehow managed to deliver more stupendous excitement in a way that couldn't be defined by a win or a loss. In case you hadn't realized, both Reed and Strowman happen to be colossal guys. But they are colossal guys capable of moving like a freight train when the time calls for it. Evidently, someone made that call this week, and what unfolded was non-stop Kong vs. Godzilla energy: the top ring rope unable to withstand Reed almost literally exploding from its fixings, Reed throwing a fan (probably, hopefully, a planted fan) at Strowman like he was a sack of potatoes, Strowman running the train to send Reed through the barricade, then getting put through a table backstage, and returning the favor to finally drive himself and the Kiwi through drywall. That seems like a lot, right? But it certainly didn't feel that way. It was stroke-for-stroke, move-for-move, and well paced for a brief segment.
