The New York Giants are signing veteran kicker Greg Joseph from the Detroit Lions practice squad Tuesday, according to his agency .

Needing to fill the void left by Graham Gano, who exited Sunday's loss to the Washington Commanders, the Giants are expected to be without Gano for a few weeks due to a hamstring injury.

Joseph, 30, entered the NFL in 2018 with the Cleveland Browns before playing two games with the Tennessee Titans in 2019.

Joseph was with the Minnesota Vikings for three seasons (2021-2023), converting 83-of-101 field-goal attempts (82.2%) and 112-of-124 extra-point attempts (90.3%) during his time in Minnesota.

A South Africa native, Joseph spent the offseason with the Green Bay Packers before being released at the end of August. He signed with the Lions practice squad last week.
