No Change as Falcons Leave Rookies Inactive Ahead of Primetime Matchup Against Chiefs

ESPN's Adam Schefter announced that after talking to multiple Atlanta Falcons officials this week, it is no secret that their primetime matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs is the "most significant and important game at Mercedez-Benz Stadium for the franchise since it opened in 2017." So, it shouldn't be a surprise that head coach Raheem Morris kept his plan to keep this year's rookie class on the bench and rely on the veterans to bring home a crucial win for the Falcons.

Just like last week, the Falcons kept a solid portion of the rookie class inactive, leaving only sixth-round pick Casey Washington , fifth-round pick J.D. Bertrand , as linebacker Nate Landman continues to work back from his quad injury and first-round pick Michael Penix Jr. active.

    Falcons inactives vs. Kansas City

As the time ticks down to kickoff, the anticipation mounts for this Sunday night matchup that could be a signifier for this Falcons season.

Can Atlanta do the impossible in back-to-back weeks, taking down two Super Bowl contenders in as many weeks?

If they do, they are going to need all hands on deck. This isn't the game to start your developmental plans, there's plenty of opportunity for that later in the season. It's time to build your identity and find out what this football team is going to look like as you continue to fight off this difficult stretch to start the 2024 season.
