After Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce called out the effort of some of his players following the Week 3 loss to the Carolina Panthers , fans and media began looking for players who fit the bill and landed on cornerback Jack Jones.

On Sunday, Pierce said players made "business decisions" instead of giving max effort, and he doubled down on that Monday, saying, "I don’t bite my tongue. I don't bite my tongue."

Wide receiver Davante Adams agreed with Pierce, saying he saw the same thing, both early and late in the game. He later added that Pierce was not talking about him.

“I agree,” Adams said of Pierce's comments during an appearance on Up & Adams with Kay Adams. “We can’t change the score late in the fourth [quarter], so you just got to put the best stuff you can on tape. I think a lot of people were doing that and there were some guys out there that were just trying to see another day. That’s really not what the game is about and if you look at the tape across the whole game, it wasn’t really just late in the game. It was multiple times throughout the three hours we were out there.”

While neither Pierce not Adams mentioned any players by name, Jones was someone fans and media pointed out as one of the players who was making "business decisions" during the loss.

On two separate occasions, Jones looked like he had no interest in tackling Panthers ball-carriers.

On Tuesday, Jones took to Twitter to respond to his critics.

Jones has been excellent since joining the Raiders last season after he was claimed off waivers from the New England Patriots . By the way, Jones says effort was not what got him cut by the Pats.

Pierce said that changes might be made after what he saw on Sunday. We'll see if Jones or anyone else pays the price for their "business decisions" in Week 3.
