The Seattle Seahawks look pretty strong in the standings, holding a two-game lead over the rest of the NFC West heading into Week 4 of the 2024 NFL season. As a whole their defense has been elite thus far, at least according to most advanced stats. Offensively, it's been a bit more hit and miss, especially at the line of scrimmage.

Let's see what we can learn by examining how everybody has performed so far, both individually and compared to the other 31 teams around the league. Here are the current Pro Football Focus grades and positional rankings for every player who's seen significant playing time so far.

    What we learned

The biggest takeaway is that according to PFF this is the best team in the league right now, and if you can't be happy with that despite some clear flaws, we can't help you. Individually, it's wonderful to see left tackle Charles Cross finally breaking through in his third year - and to do it at such a high level is a pleasant surprise. It's a shame the rest of the offensive line is so far behind him right now.

On defense, free safety Julian Love deserves to be in the All-Pro conversation this year. It's also a little bit odd to see the team's pass rush grade so average when they're leading the league in pressures. Dre'Mont Jones is the biggest disappointment here, especially considering what they're paying him. Hopefully he can turn it around, but don't be surprised if he winds up a salary cap casualty next March, even if it comes at a high dead money cost.

It's difficult to evaluate the new kickoffs and Seattle's seeming struggles in the return game there, we'll have to give the league more time to settle on that one before we make any definitive judgments about what Dee Williams and Laviska Shenault are doing.
