Derek Carr injury update: Latest news on New Orleans Saints QB in Week 4

Most understood the Week 4 injury report for the New Orleans Saints was going to be bad.

But most didn’t know it was going to be includes Derek Carr bad.

Carr popped up on the first injury report of the week for the Saints, with the team listing him as a full participant due to a groin injury.

The question now is whether the Saints are just going overboard with due diligence or whether onlookers should be concerned about his status.

Carr is, after all, coming off his worst game of the young season, where he threw just one touchdown and pick in the 15-12 loss to Philadelphia after not being listed on the injury report. That, after throwing five scores and one pick across two games, 47-10 and 44-19 wins.

Complicating matters is the fact that the offensive line in front of Carr just took another massive injury hit , too, which could require a big shuffling of the lineup. That’s a bad problem to have any week, but especially so with Taysom Hill still injured and this week’s opponent the Atlanta Falcons, a competitive team that made Carr’s life miserable last year on the road.

After a hot start, the Saints can’t afford a dip to 2-2 before a game against the Kansas City Chiefs. And while there isn’t concern as of this writing that Carr will miss time, it’s quickly become one of the top things to watch in the NFL over the coming days.
