Steelers QB reveals Raiders were among teams trying to trade for him

As the Las Vegas Raiders attempted to improve their quarterback situation during the 2024 offseason, the team apparently had interest in trading for former Chicago Bears quarterback Justin Fields, who eventually ended up with the Pittsburgh Steelers .

Fields revealed that the Raiders were among at least three teams that inquired about him during the offseason, along with the Los Angeles Chargers and Baltimore Ravens.

"I'm not sure of all the teams, but you know, there were a lot of teams that had already had solidified quarterbacks there," Fields said on the Not Just Football podcast with Cam Heyward . "And I don't wanna be... I think Chargers was one, Ravens was another.

"Raiders, they talked a little bit. I don't know too much. But a lot of the teams, they already had solidified quarterbacks, and they just got new contracts, so I wasn't really trying to be there, because I kind of know how that shakes out."

It isn't clear how far trade talks with the Bears went, but the Raiders settled on signing Gardner Minshew to compete with Aidan O'Connell. Las Vegas also had eyes on drafting a quarterback , but that didn't work out.

Fields is off to a 3-0 start with the Steelers, although he's had a massive helping hand from Pittsburgh's defense, which has been elite. Meanwhile, the Raiders are off to a 1-2 start, although I'm not sure how much Fields would've changed that, as the quarterback play hasn't been Las Vegas' biggest issue on offense.
