Red Sox manager says this will be the last failing season the team has under him

Boston Red Sox manager Alex Cora thinks that even if this season was a failure, it will be the last one, per Gabrielle Starr. Cora thinks this will be a big offseason for the Sox.

“Personally, I do believe this is the last struggle. Moving forward, the offseason we’ll compete, spring training we’ll compete, and roster-wise, it's going to be a lot of tough decisions.”

With the Sox season coming to an end, and the third missed playoffs in a row, the Sox need to go all out this offseason. By missing the playoffs this year, they have tied a Sox record for longest playoff drought in 30 years.

Boston’s CBO Craig Breslow already stated that the ownership is ready to spend, and this offseason is as good as any.

Cora saying there will be tough decisions roster-wise was also backed up by Breslow previously, where he stated that necessary pieces for playoff contention will come from trade.

In any case, the Sox need to make some decisions this offseason, and decide who is going to be leaving the team and who they want to join the team.
