The 2024 MLB postseason is at last upon us, with a quartet of games set to ring in October on Tuesday.

The quest to the World Series begins in Houston, with a southpaw showdown between Tarik Skubal and Framber Valdez. Skubal, the odds-on favorite to win the American League Cy Young Award, catapults the red-hot Tigers into October against the battle-tested Astros.

Then, Gunnar Henderson and the Orioles host Bobby Witt Jr. and the Royals, a duel between two of baseball's most dynamic players. Two All-Stars take the hill as Corbin Burnes opposes Cole Ragans.

National League action features the white-hot Padres, who are soaring into the postseason after playing some of the best baseball of any team across the last four months, against the Braves — the final team to make the bracket. San Diego, the oldest MLB franchise to have not won a World Series, eyes an end to that futile stretch.

And Milwaukee, led by rookie Jackson Chourio, quietly ran away with the NL Central. The Brewers begin their sixth postseason run in the past seven years against a Mets team few would have expected to be in this position during the first half.
