Cleveland Browns rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr . has been suspended for five games without pay by the NFL for violating the Personal Conduct Policy.

In September, Hall Jr. pleaded no contest to a domestic altercation that occurred over the summer.  He has been on the Commissioner's Exempt List since the beginning of the season.

The suspension is retroactive making Hall Jr. eligible for reinstatement on October 7.

He played in the preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings against some fans' objections days after his arrest.  Outspoken fans wanted the Browns to cut him at the time.  Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski indicated that the team would await the outcome of the investigation and NFL ruling.
