UNC’s Mack Brown blasts ‘tabloid’ reporters in fiery rant

The 73-year-old UNC head coach Mack Brown's accomplishments expand beyond his current role. He spent significant time working as an analyst for ABC and ESPN. This came after his tenure with the University of Texas — one that spanned over 16 years.

Brown reflected on his time working for the media — sharing his experience. This took place during the pre-game press conference earlier this week ahead of their matchup against Pittsburgh.

“We live in a world with opinions – even reporters. Some are professional and some want to be tabloid because they’re trying to get better jobs and it gives them more splash,” Brown noted too, per On3’s Sam Gillenwater . “I got it. I lived in your business, I did that.”

It’s only fair for Brown to voice his thoughts considering that reporters share theirs all the time. Question after question, the curiosity never stops.

Frustration looms over the football program with two straight losses . The defense has been inconsistent; the offense has fallen flat at times. And the fans believe that the coaching situation is to blame. Is it? Possibly. However, there are many aspects that make-up a football program including coaches, players, the athletic director, boosters, etc.

Brown has an opportunity to get back on the win column this Saturday, October 5 at Kenan Memorial Stadium.
