Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag could see his future decided in the coming days as his team threw away at two-goal lead to draw 3-3 in Porto.

The Red Devils were aiming to bounce back from a 3-0 Premier League home defeat to Tottenham over the weekend but a point in northern Portugal only raises more questions.

The final result required a late rally, despite the visitors storming into an early  2-0 lead at the Estadio Dragao, via goals from Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund.

However, as Porto rallied, Ten Hag looked increasingly bereft of ideas as Samu Omordion's double flipped the script to put Porto 3-2 in front.

After captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off for the second game in a row, the unlikely hero of Harry Maguire emerged from the bench, to head home a dramatic equaliser in added time.

Defeat to Spurs was rumoured to have put Ten Hag on notice over his position at Old Trafford , following a poor start to the season, with the clash in Porto and the weekend trip to Aston Villa decisive.

As Ten Hag failed to get result he needed in Porto, it could all come down to Villa Park on October 6, before the start of the incoming international break.

Anything other than a convincing win could spell the end for the Dutchman's time in Manchester as the signs look ominous after another rollercoaster night for the travelling United fans.
