Denver Broncos vs. Las Vegas Raiders Series History: Broncos face long-time rival in Week 5

    By Travis Wakeman,

The Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders have one of the best, most bitter rivalries in NFL history. In recent years, that rivalry has been dominated by the silver and black.

After winning their last two games, the Broncos are back on track, sitting at 2-2 on the season. Winning a third game in a row while also ending the Raiders' 8-game winning over them would be a huge boost to Denver's confidence. The Broncos have not beaten the Raiders since December 2019.

As a result, the Raiders have widened their lead in the all-time series, holding a 73-54-2 edge. In games played in Denver, the Broncos have a 33-29-2 all-time record against the Raiders, but Vegas has won the last four games played at Empower Field.

Here's a closer look at the all-time series.

Team Wins Losses Ties Total Points Scored Longest Winning Streak
    Denver Broncos 54 73 2 1,336 8 (2011-15)
    Las Vegas Raiders 73 54 2 1,328 14 (1965-71)

This will be the 130th time these two teams have played and in all-time matchups, just eight total points separate them. The Raiders have a longer winning streak than the one they are currently riding. The Broncos' longest winning streak came during the Peyton Manning days.

To make this game even more special, the Broncos will be honoring the 1977 AFC Championship team, which beat the Raiders to advance to the Super Bowl that year. They will be breaking out their throwback uniforms for the game.

The Broncos and Raiders are set to kick off at 2:05 pm MT and the game will be televised on FOX. Kevin Kugler and Daryl Johnston will call the action.
