Bears could acquire four-time Pro Bowl running back in deal with Browns

Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles has never been afraid to be aggressive on the trade market.

One of Poles’s favorite trade tactics, according to a new report from Sports Mockery’s Erik Lambert, is to target teams that are in the midst of a tumultuous season. By dealing with GMs under pressure, Poles often enters negotiations with leverage and walks away with a favorable return.

One team having a rough go of it so far this year is the Cleveland Browns. Will Poles zero in on Cleveland as a potential trade partner as he looks to bolster the Bears’ roster?

Lambert thinks it’s possible, mentioning Cleveland’s four-time Pro Bowl running back as a potential acquisition for Chicago.

“(Browns GM Andrew Berry’s) job security isn’t overly in question,” Lambert said. “That said, his team is off to a rough start and on the verge of falling into a pit. Cleveland is projected to be over the salary cap next year. That means Berry may have to unload one or two players to gain some flexibility.”

“Some interesting names who could be available: LT Jedrick Wills, RG Wyatt Teller, RB Nick Chubb … Chubb is just now returning from a season-ending injury last year. He would be a risk. Still, when healthy, he has the ability to take over football games.”

Should Poles make a move for Chubb?
