We see professional sports franchises bring back their retired greats all the time to give them roles in retirement, and Pittsburgh Steelers legend and future Hall of Famer, Ben Roethlisberger, is hoping to have the same opportunity.

Roethlisberger was a guest on The Pat McAfee Show on Friday and revealed that he would like to "get involved" with the Steelers in some way, although he admitted he's not exactly sure what that would entail.

Big Ben, who currently hosts the "Footbahlin' with Ben Roethlisberger" podcast, also expressed his love for Pittsburgh and said he and his family are going to stay there for the long haul.

"Yeah, I’m gonna be here (in Pittsburgh)," he said . "We’re not leaving here. This is home for us and I’m gonna pay attention to it. And I’d love to get involved with the Steelers at some point when it’s right. Whatever that looks like, I don’t know. I just, I enjoy being here. I enjoy what goes on here.”

It's doubtful Big Ben wants to get into coaching, but Pittsburgh could hire him as a special advisor, something we saw the Houston Texans do with Hall of Famer and former wide receiver Andre Johnson.

We've also seen the NBA's New York Knicks, for example, hire franchise great Patrick Ewing as an ambassador for the team.

It remains to be seen if the Steelers have mutual interest in bringing Roethlisberger in for some kind of role, but doing so certainly couldn't hurt. He has a wealth of football knowledge and would no doubt be an asset.

It would be cool to see Roethlisberger employed by the team again, and it would be even cooler to see him roaming the sidelines on Sundays.
